Enhancing the Eyes

By  |

As much as I would love to dive right into how we can enhance the eyes. It is good to know what shape of eyes you have, knowing the shape of your eyes is as important as knowing your body shape-because it allows you enhance what you have. This will help you choose the most flattering colours for your lid and use a liner to enhance not cover up! Flaunt what you’ve got!

There are close to eight different shapes of eyes. You too can determine the shape of your eyes using a mirror.

Firstly, do you have a crease on your eyelid? If you answered no, your quest is complete you have monolid eyes. Monolids are flat on the surface and don’t have much of a crease, if any. When applying eyeliner for monolids, it is advisable to apply a thick line of a good waterproof eyeliner. You can enhance the eyes by extending your eyeliner slightly beyond your eye corner to create the winged eyeliner or cat eye eyeliner looks.

Now, if you were to put you a straight line across the center of each eye, do the outer corners appear to be drawing upwards. If they’re skyward bound, you have “upturned” eyes. The upturned eye takes the form of a classic almond shape, with a natural lift at the outer corner. To enhance your eyes, your objective would be to create a downward illusion on the upturned outer corner of the eye. Another way to make upturned eyes look perfect is creating the ‘V’ shape on your outer eye corner and your eyelid crease. You can use a BH Large Tapered Blending brush to do this.

If the outer corners appear to be drawing downwards. You have “downturned” eyes. Downturned eyes have a slight dropping on the outer corners. The perfect way to enhance this shape of eyes is to create a sexy cat’s eye shape.
