Boost your Body Image without Exercise

By  |

For the longest time, anytime I looked into the mirror I felt sorry for myself, I felt fat, the stretch marks were just alarming, I didn’t realize that I was losing my self-confidence. I couldn’t walk with my head up high because I didn’t feel people would want to look at me-can you relate?

I have lost weight, I had gained weight-none of that helped with my self-esteem, I’m starting to believe that if you want to boost your self-esteem or your body image, you have to disabuse your mind from the perception that exercise or this and that will make you happier. Some fat girls have lost weight but haven’t gained self-esteem while slim girls want to be fat because they want to have more defined shaped. Nobody seems to be happy with the way they were created. What can make a difference is changing the way you see what’s already there in the mirror.

To help you and me get started thinking about ourselves in a more positive light, put away the scale, ignore those size tags, and focus on these things.

MAKEOVER. As much as I am pro-natural look, sometimes I want to jazz it up a bit. I did this by learning to make myself up, a foundation there, enhancing the eyes there and it did wonders for my self-esteem. It will do the same for you. You can get any type of makeup product on Podozi.com.

DON’T STARVE. As funny as this may sound, many people have starved themselves so much so they could get the perfect shape. Eat healthy food, don’t eat too late in the night, and don’t grab snacks when you are bored. It will do great things for your body.

YOU ARE NOT PHOTOSHOPPED. Some of us don’t know the airbrushing that takes place on some of these celebrities, so we judge ourselves based on that. The wrong thing would be to compare yourself to a playboy bunny or a Victoria’s secret model. Embrace the real you.

STOP NEGATIVE SELF-TALK IMMEDIATELY. You are beautiful, the more you tell yourself that, the more you believe it, the more you begin to look like it.

FIND AND FOCUS ON THE GOOD STUFF. You might not be the slimmest person but your figure is to die for, you may not like how big your lips are, but your eyes are a beautiful set of cat eyes. Focus on the good stuff, do not dwell on the bad side.

TREAT YOURSELF WITH KINDNESS AND RESPECT. As small and minimal as this might seem, many of us aren’t kind to ourselves, we are so busy helping others look that that we haven’t focused on helping ourselves look our best.

DRESS NICE. In the bid to conceal our flaws, some of us have gotten clothes almost three times our size. It doesn’t only conceal, it adds years to our lives and possibly could be chasing Mr. Right away.
